Regular Season Round 21: Maccabi K/G - Hap.R/G Givat. 88-86

Eighth-ranked Hap.R/G Givat. (9-12) was very close to win a game against second ranked Maccabi K/G (15-6) in Kiryat Gat on Tuesday. Maccabi K/G managed to secure only two-point victory 88-86. However their fans expected much easier game. Maccabi K/G shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for the former international center Robert Rothbart (217-86, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. American point guard Keddric Mays (183-84) contributed with 27 points and 5 assists for the winners. American guard Rashad Madden (196-92, college: Arkansas) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists and American-Dominican forward Kelly Beidler (199-88, college: Mt.St.Mary's) added 25 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Hap.R/G Givat.Maccabi K/G have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 15-6 record behind leader Macc.Rehovot. Hap.R/G Givat. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. Maccabi K/G are looking forward to face Hapoel Kfar Saba (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Hap.R/G Givat. will play against Maccabi Raanana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
