There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Hapoel Afula (6-15) crushed at home higher ranked Hapoel Kfar Saba (10-11) 106-80 on Wednesday. Hapoel Afula looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. It was a good game for forward Coral Sachs (-97, agency: Ron Sport) who led his team to a victory with 30 points and 7 assists (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field). American power forward Jeff Allen (201-87, college: Virginia Tech) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Four Hapoel Afula players scored in double figures. Forward Eitan Rotemberg (198-91) answered with 22 points and naturalized Polish point guard Tamir Ariely (190-90) added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Hapoel Kfar Saba. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hapoel Afula have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain thirteenth place with 6-15 record. Loser Hapoel Kfar Saba keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. Hapoel Afula will face higher ranked Hapoel Galilee (#5) in Kazrin in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
