Regular Season Round 24: Navarra - Avila 76-67

Date: March 9, 2018
Another interesting game for Navarra (12-12) which hosted in Pamplona against 5th ranked Fontedoso Carrefour (14-10). Eighth ranked Navarra won 76-67. It looked good early as Fontedoso Carrefour took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Navarra had a 24-17 second period charge getting the lead and Fontedoso Carrefour was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 67-76. Navarra had a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Ivorian forward Moussa Kone (203-93, college: Hofstra, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian power forward Luka Nikolic (209-94) who added 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Navarra players scored in double figures. Navarra's coach David Mangas allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was forward Jon Aramburu (204-92, agency: Duran International) with 17 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Bernardo Garcia (183-92) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Navarra maintains eighth position with 12-12 record. Fontedoso Carrefour at the other side keeps the fifth place with ten games lost. Navarra will play against league's leader HLA Alicante on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Fontedoso Carrefour will play against Fundacion 5+11 (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
