Regular Season Round 24: Langen - Speyer 67-102

Rather predictable result when second ranked Speyer (20-2) outscored on the road 5th ranked TV Langen (13-9) 102-67 on Saturday. They outrebounded TV Langen 52-33 including a 38-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Speyer looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Jordan Rezendes (188, college: Mass.-Dartmouth) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Spanish center Eduard Arques (202-94) chipped in 27 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Tyrone McLaughlin (180-95) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Nick Smith (203-95, college: Belmont) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Speyer have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position in South-West with 20-2 record behind leader Muenster. Loser TV Langen keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. Speyer will face Lich II (#14) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. TV Langen will play against Tuebingen II (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
