Regular Season Round 26: Huelva - Medacbasket 71-70

A very interesting game took place in Huelva. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 4th ranked Medacbasket (13-8) to seventh ranked Huelva (12-9) 71-70 on Saturday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Medacbasket won fourth quarter 22-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 25 personal fouls committed by Medacbasket helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Jeremiah Davis-III (190-93, college: Florida Southern) notched 25 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and Argentinian-Italian swingman Julian-Horacio Lopez (190-79) supported him with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 25 points by American forward RJ McGhee (198, college: Oklahoma City) did not help to save the game for Medacbasket. His fellow American import power forward Mike Middlebrooks (206-92, college: Adams St.) added 9 points and 12 rebounds for the guests. Medacbasket's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Huelva maintains seventh position in Group D-Clasif with 12-9 record, which they share with ULB OH!TELS. Medacbasket at the other side dropped to the fifth place with eight games lost. Huelva's next round opponent will be higher ranked Almeria (#6) on the road and it may be quite challenging game. Medacbasket will play against the league's leader Algeciras and will have a slim chance for a victory.
