Regular Season Round 19: Maccabi T-A - Hapoel J-M 77-74

Third-ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (11-8) gave a tough game to second ranked Maccabi T-A (15-4) in Tel-Aviv on Sunday. Maccabi T-A managed to secure only three-point victory 77-74. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts trailed by 12 points after three quarters before their 25-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for American point guard Norris Cole (188-88, college: Cleveland St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points. American-Tunisian Michael Roll (198-87, college: UCLA) helped adding 13 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. At the losing side international power forward Richard Howell (203-90, college: N.Carolina St.) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and American point guard Kalin Lucas (185-89, college: Michigan St.) scored 11 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Maccabi T-A keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Hapoel Holon. Hapoel Jerusalem lost third consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the third place with eight games lost. Maccabi T-A is looking forward to face league's leader Hapoel Holon on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hapoel Jerusalem will play against Galil Gilboa and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
