Important game to mention about took place in Rishon Le-Zion. Fifth ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (10-9) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 8th ranked Maccabi Rishon (8-11) 90-87 on Sunday evening. Hapoel Tel-Aviv players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Maccabi Rishon was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Jerel McNeal (190-87, college: Marquette) who led the winners and scored 25 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. The former international Raviv Limonad (191-84) accounted for 14 points and 7 assists for the winning side. Five Hapoel Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. American Jason Siggers (194-85, college: Albany) came up with 28 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import forward Murphy Holloway (201-90, college: Mississippi) added 19 points and 10 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) respectively for Maccabi Rishon in the defeat. Hapoel Tel-Aviv moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Maccabi Ashdod. Maccabi Rishon at the other side keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will play against Maccabi Ashdod (#4) at home in the next round. Maccabi Rishon will play against Hapoel Eilat (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
