Second Stage Round 3: Tsmoki-Minsk - Gorizont 60-67

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when Gorizont (18-10) defeated on the road Tsmoki-Minsk (23-5) 67-60 on Wednesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Tsmoki-Minsk won third quarter 15-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Gorizont won last quarter 17-11. They also forced 22 Tsmoki-Minsk turnovers. Strangely Tsmoki-Minsk outrebounded Gorizont 48-28 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for international guard Volha Ziuzkova (171-83) who led her team to a victory scoring 6 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals. Russian center Anna Nuzhnaya (194-92) helped adding 15 points. The best for the losing side was Russian Mariya Cheremisina (174-92) with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and the former international forward Ala Murauskaya (187-85) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Four Tsmoki-Minsk players scored in double figures. Tsmoki-Minsk's coach Andrey Vavleu tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Gorizont will face Olimpia in Grodno in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tsmoki-Minsk will play on the road against Gomel-Sozh and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
