Regular Season Round 27: Ourense - Caceres 90-72

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Ourense and 10th ranked Caceres Basket had identical 11-14 record. This time Ourense used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Caceres 90-72 on Friday night. The game was mostly controlled by Ourense. Caceres Basket was better in fourth quarter 22-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American guard Reginald Johnson (191-94, college: Hampton, agency: Slash Sports) who led his team to a victory with 18 points. Latvian center Davis Rozitis (215-90, college: Hawaii) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Rozitis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four Ourense players scored in double figures. Point guard Guillermo Corrales (180-95) answered with 13 points and 4 assists and guard Pol Olivier (188, college: NW Nazarene) added 10 points in the effort for Caceres Basket. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Ourense (12-14) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to ninth place. Caceres Basket lost fourth consecutive game. Loser Caceres Basket dropped to the twelfth position with 15 games lost. Ourense will face higher ranked Melilla Baloncesto (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Caceres Basket will play against Blancos de Rueda (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
