Regular Season Round 22: Karditsas - Peristeri GS 62-77

A2 top team - Peristeri GS (22-0) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat thirteenth ranked Karditsas (7-15) 77-62. The game was mostly controlled by Peristeri GS. Karditsas managed to win third quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Forward Alexandros Sigounas (200-88, agency: Octagon Europe) notched 13 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and American-Bulgarian point guard Keydren Clark (180-84, college: St.Peter's) supported him with 19 points. Four Peristeri GS players scored in double figures. Even 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by Serbian center Stefan Djordjevic (206-89) did not help to save the game for Karditsas. Swingman Georgios Mavrogiannis (193-92) added 9 points for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Peristeri GS have an impressive 22-game winning streak. Newly promoted Peristeri GS maintains first position with 22-0 record. Karditsas at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth place with 15 games lost. Peristeri GS's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Doukas.
