There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Bergamo (6-19) won against at home higher ranked Imola (13-12) 79-71 on Saturday. They outrebounded Imola 37-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for American-Hungarian forward Damian Hollis (203-88, college: G.Washington) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 8 rebounds. Marco Lagana (197-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Forward Davide Alviti (202-96) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and American Jeremiah Wilson (205-88, college: Tarleton St.) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Imola. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Bergamo maintains fourteenth place in A2 with 6-19 record. Loser Imola dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. Bergamo will face Agribertocchi OR (#16) in Orzinuovi in the next round.
