There was no surprise when 6th ranked LTC Sangiorg. (14-12) lost to third ranked Super Flavor M. (18-8) in Milano 72-84 on Saturday. Super Flavor M. looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international guard Riccardo Santolamazza (195-83) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Point guard Simone Ferrarese (184-87) contributed with 16 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Super Flavor M. players scored in double figures. Forward Giovanni Lenti (200-96) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and forward Luca Antonietti (197-94, agency: Octagon Europe) added 21 points in the effort for LTC Sangiorg.LTC Sangiorg.'s coach Daniele Quilici tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Super Flavor M. maintains third position in B with 18-8 record having five points less than leader San Severo, which they share with Piacenza. Loser LTC Sangiorg. dropped to the seventh place with 12 games lost. Super Flavor M. will face San Miniato (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. LTC Sangiorg. will play against Omnia Basket (#10) in Pavia and hope to win that game.
