Regular Season Round 23: TBV Start - Polski Cukier 77-63

The game between second ranked Twarde Pierniki (18-8) and eleventh ranked Start (13-10) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Twarde Pierniki was defeated by Start in Lublin 63-77. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Twarde Pierniki's 26. They outrebounded Twarde Pierniki 38-22 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American swingman Chavaughn Lewis (196-93, college: Marist) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 7 rebounds. Marcin Dutkiewicz (198-86) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Start's coach David Dedek used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Glenn Cosey (183-92, college: E.Kentucky, agency: 3Eye) answered with 17 points and 4 steals and Aleks Perka (200-87, college: Rice, agency: Promotex) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Twarde Pierniki. Start moved-up to tenth place. Twarde Pierniki at the other side keeps the second position with eight games lost. Start are looking forward to face higher ranked Wilki Morskie (#6) in Szczecin in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Twarde Pierniki will play at home against BM Slam Stal (#5) and is hoping to win this game.
