CDU Concepcion upset Los Leones in the semifinal opener. Universidad de Concepcion outrebounded Los Leones 46-35 including 34 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Dominican forward Juan Guerrero (201-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks. American Tracy Robinson (201-86, college: Loyola, IL) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Universidad de Concepcion players scored in double figures. Argentinian forward Lisandro Rasio (198-90, agency: Pro Sports) answered with 15 points and 9 rebounds and the former international Darrol Jones (193-94) added 11 points in the effort for Los Leones.
