No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Vietnamese Saigon Heat (10-8) defeated at home 8th ranked Malaysian Westports MD (5-13) 115-103 on Sunday. Saigon Heat forced 22 Westports MD turnovers. It was a great evening for American-Nigerian power forward Maxie Esho (206-91, college: Massachusetts, agency: Two Points) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds. Filipino-American guard Michael Williams (188-91, college: CS Fullerton) helped adding 24 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. The best for the losing side was American power forward Bryan Davis (206-86, college: Texas A&M) with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 17 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) and the other American import forward Chris Eversley (201-91, college: Cal Poly - SLO) scored 30 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Saigon Heat maintains sixth place with 10-8 record. Westports MD lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 13 games lost. Saigon Heat will meet at home higher ranked Singapore Slingers (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Westports MD will play against Hong Kong ELL and hope to secure a win.
