The game between closely ranked teams ended with 3rd placed N.Avellaneda's (13-10) road loss to second ranked El Tribuno (15-7) 72-93 on Friday. El Tribuno made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized American center Eric Freeman (205-79, college: Ky Wesleyan) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Forward Emiliano Cancina (192-93) chipped in 19 points. Four El Tribuno players scored in double figures. Center Hugo Autalan (200-88) produced 10 points and 8 rebounds and forward Martin Balteiro (194-89) added 6 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. El Tribuno have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted El Tribuno maintains second place with 15-7 record having four points less than leader Ferro Carrill O., which they share with Belgrano SN and Perfora. N.Avellaneda lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with ten games lost. El Tribuno will face Hindu Club (#6) in Catamarca in the next round. N.Avellaneda will play on the road against UD Nueva Oran and hope to win that game.
