Regular Season Round 27: Cassino - Roma S.Azzurra 84-75

Rather predictable result when third ranked Cassino (20-7) defeated at home 7th ranked Roma S.Azzurra (16-9) 84-75 on Saturday. Cassino made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Cassino outrebounded Roma S.Azzurra 34-22 including 20 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Simone Bagnoli (205-81, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds. Naturalized Argentinian power forward Enzo-Damian Cena (200-92) helped adding 19 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was naturalized Dominican guard Yancarlos-Jefferson Rodriguez (195-94) with 15 points and 4 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) and point guard Giovanni Corbinelli (180-97) scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cassino maintains third place in B with 20-7 record having four points less than leader San Severo. Loser Roma S.Azzurra keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Cassino will face Patti (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Roma S.Azzurra will play against Venafro (#12) and hope to win that game.
