Regular Season Round 28: Roser - Cantaires Tortosa 87-70

There was a minor upset when 12th ranked Cantaires Tortosa (6-16) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Roser (6-16) 87-70 on Saturday. Cantaires Tortosa was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Xavier Assalit (187-95) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and Albert Sulleva who added 21 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Roser players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Sean McDonnell (203, college: Westmont) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and Jordi Barbera (202-96) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Roser moved-up to twelfth place in Group C-A, which they share with defeated Cantaires Tortosa. Cantaires Tortosa lost fifth consecutive game. Roser will face higher ranked Girona Basquet (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Cantaires Tortosa will play against AEC Collblanc (#4) having rather not much hope for a victory.
