Very predictable result when fifth ranked Antalyaspor (19-10) won against at home 14th ranked Yalova Bld (8-21) 87-82 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Antalyaspor made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. American forward CJ Leslie (206-91, college: N.Carolina St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Emir Gokalp (185-95) contributed with 16 points and 5 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners. Four Antalyaspor players scored in double figures. American guard Markel Starks (188-91, college: Georgetown) answered with 35 points (!!!) and 5 assists and Nigerian center Jeleel Akindele (216-83, college: Chicago St., agency: BeoBasket) added 13 points and 15 rebounds in the effort for Yalova Bld. Newly promoted Antalyaspor maintains fifth place with 19-10 record. Loser Yalova Bld keeps the fourteenth position with 21 games lost. Antalyaspor will face league's second-placed Bursaspor on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Yalova Bld will play against Orman Genclik (#8) in Ankara and hope to win that game.
