Regular Season Round 28: Santurtzi - Pielagos 87-65

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Santurtzi and 5th ranked Pielagos had identical 16-9 record. This time Santurtzi used a home court advantage and outplayed the opponent from Renedo de Pielagos 87-65 on Saturday night. They outrebounded Pielagos 39-28 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Mikel Sainz (195-95) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 8 rebounds and guard Pablo Albisu (179-95) who added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side American guard Ron Lee (188, college: Cent.Methodist) responded with 27 points and Canadian forward Pape Seck (208, college: Simon Fraser) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Santurtzi have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place in Group A-A, which they share with Cantbasket. Loser Pielagos dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. Santurtzi will face Mondragon (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pielagos will play against Univ.Burgos (#12) and hope to win that game.
