There was an upset when higher ranked Akhisar Bld (14-15) was smashed by seventeenth ranked TED Kolejliler (8-21) in Ankara 90-71 on Saturday. American point guard Alfrie Kelley (183-85, college: S.Carolina) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 14 assists. His fellow American import center David Weaver (207-87, college: Wake Forest) contributed with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American guard Reginald Holmes (193-87, college: Morgan St., agency: Two Points) answered with 20 points and 6 rebounds and guard Cagdas Erdogan (188-88) added 6 points and 6 assists in the effort for Akhisar Bld. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. TED Kolejliler moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Akhisar Bld keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. TED Kolejliler will face higher ranked Acibadem (#6) in Istanbul in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
