The game had a very big importance for sixth-ranked Adana ASKI as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Adana ASKI edged much higher ranked Abdullah Gul in Kayseri 70-67. Adana ASKI dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Abdullah Gul's 32. They outrebounded Abdullah Gul 42-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. American guard Courtney Williams (173-94, college: S.Florida) had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Russian forward Marina Bas (194-85) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Serbian point guard Maja Miljkovic (175-88, agency: ProDep Management) responded with 26 points and 8 assists and Romanian forward Gabriela Marginean (182-87, college: Drexel) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Abdullah Gul at the other side still keeps top place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Galatasaray. Abdullah Gul will play next round against strong Galatasaray trying to get back on the winning streak. Adana ASKI will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Besiktas in Istanbul.
