Regular Season Round 13: UNINASSAU - Catanduva 72-47

Bottom-ranked Catanduva is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their 12th consecutive match to fourth ranked UNINASSAU (7-4) 72-47 on Sunday evening. UNINASSAU dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Catanduva's 26. UNINASSAU forced 20 Catanduva turnovers and outrebounded them 42-28 including 35 on the defensive glass. The former international point guard Tassia Carcavalli (175-92) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and forward Gabriela Guimaraes (183-96) accounted for 11 points and 9 rebounds. UNINASSAU's coach Roberto Dornelas felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Jennifer Sirtoli (184-92) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and the former international center Tatiana Conceicao (187-81, college: SE Missouri St.) added 12 points and 4 steals respectively for Catanduva in the defeat. UNINASSAU moved-up to third place, which they share with Santo Andre. Catanduva lost their twelfth game in a row. They still close the standings with 12 games lost. UNINASSAU will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Catanduva will play against Pres.Valceslau (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
