There was a small surprise when fifteenth ranked Virtus Roma (9-17) edged on the road 13th ranked Remer Treviglio (10-15) 75-73 on Sunday. Strangely Remer Treviglio outrebounded Virtus Roma 43-20 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Aaron Thomas (196-91, college: Florida St.) scored 23 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Lee Roberts (201-87, college: Findlay, OH) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Virtus Roma players scored in double figures. Guard Tommaso Marino (192-86, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 26 points and 7 assists and swingman Andrea Pecchia (194-97) scored 9 points and 14 rebounds. Virtus Roma maintains fifteenth position in A2 with 9-17 record. Loser Remer Treviglio dropped to the fourteenth place with 15 games lost. Virtus Roma will face higher ranked Eurotrend Biella (#4) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
