Regular Season Round 27: Omnia Basket - LTC Sangiorg. 95-74

There was a minor upset in Pavia where 7th ranked LTC Sangiorg. (14-13) was crushed by ninth ranked Omnia Basket (14-13) 95-74 on Sunday. Omnia Basket made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. LTC Sangiorg. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for point guard Giulio Mascherpa (185-92, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Thomas De Min (202-86) helped adding 15 points and 12 rebounds. Five Omnia Basket players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Giovanni Lenti (200-96) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and center Giulio Dushi (200-98) scored 20 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Omnia Basket moved-up to eighth place in B, which they share with Desio. Omnia Basket will face league's leader Omegna on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
