Regular Season Round 21: Hapoel Holon - Hapoel J-M 86-88

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Hapoel Holon (16-5) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by third ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (13-8) 88-86. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Hapoel Holon. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 24-20 charge, which allowed them to win the game. They outrebounded Hapoel Holon 40-26 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for American Jerome Dyson (191-87, college: Connecticut) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 6 rebounds. International power forward Richard Howell (203-90, college: N.Carolina St.) contributed with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Tu Holloway (183-89, college: Xavier) answered with 26 points and 4 assists and the other American import swingman Glen Rice-Jr (198-91, college: Georgia Tech) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Hapoel Holon. Five Hapoel Jerusalem and four Hapoel Holon players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains third place with 13-8 record having just three points less than leader Hapoel Holon. Hapoel Holon at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. They share it with Maccabi T-A. Hapoel Jerusalem are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Maccabi Haifa (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hapoel Holon will play against Ironi Nahariya (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
