Regular Season Round 27: Lucentum - Fundacion 5+11 91-72

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Fundacion 5+11 (12-16) was outleveled on the road by third ranked HLA Alicante (19-8) 91-72. Fundacion 5+11 was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. HLA Alicante players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a great evening for American Orion Outerbridge (206-88, college: Rhode Island) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Pedro Rivero (186-79) helped adding 12 points and 8 assists. HLA Alicante's coach David Varela used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Rodney Williams (201-93, college: Drexel) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and Estonian swingman Sander Raieste (200-99) scored 15 points. Four HLA Alicante and five Fundacion 5+11 players scored in double figures. HLA Alicante maintains third place with 19-8 record having just two points less than leader Granada. Fundacion 5+11 lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with 16 games lost. HLA Alicante will play against Myrtia (#10) in Murcia in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fundacion 5+11 will play on the road against Martorell and hopes to get back on the winning track.
