It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sanjoanense. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Dee Franklin (196, college: Ft.Valley St.) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Samuel Loio (180-89) accounted for 15 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Franklin is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Esgueira / Oli's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Carlos Resende (191-87) came up with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Spanish power forward Sergi Coll (204-82) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Sanjoanense in the defeat. Esgueira / Oli maintains second place in Places 1-8 with 16-8 record having nine points less than leader Imortal. Sanjoanense at the other side keeps the third position with ten games lost. They share it with Maia Basket. Esgueira / Oli will play against Maia Basket (#4) on the road in the next round. Sanjoanense will play against the league's leader Imortal and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
