Bottom-ranked Weert managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the fourteen-game losing streak. This time they won against fifth-ranked Rotterdam 93-81. Rotterdam was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Weert forced 19 Rotterdam turnovers and outrebounded them 40-25 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Rotterdam was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Sam Van-Dijk (194-96) notched 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and Matthew Van-Tongeren (201-93) supported him with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Weert's coach Radenko Varagic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 30 points by American swingman Trevor Setty (203-89, college: Pikeville) did not help to save the game for Rotterdam. The former international center Robert Krabbendam (213-86, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Court Side) added 13 points and 6 rebounds. Weert maintains ninth position with 4-23 record. Rotterdam lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 14 games lost. Weert will play against higher ranked Den Helder (#8) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Rotterdam will play against Leeuwarden and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
