Rather expected game in Saporro where 5th ranked Hokkaido L. (24-25) was defeated by second ranked Chiba Jets (37-12) 106-88 on Sunday. Chiba Jets forced 23 Hokkaido L. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. Hokkaido L. was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) fired a double-double by scoring 30 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Naturalized American guard Aki Chambers (190-90, college: Cal Merced) chipped in 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Five Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. American swingman Dijon Thompson (201-83, college: UCLA) produced 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Chiba Jets. They keep a position of league leader. Loser Hokkaido L. dropped to the second place with 25 games lost. Chiba Jets will face league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hokkaido L. will play on the road against Tochigi Brex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
