Regular Season Round 50: Fukuoka Rizing - Akita NH 81-71

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Akita Happinets (44-5) on the court of first ranked Fukuoka Rizing on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Fukuoka Rizing 81-71. It ended at the same time the 22-game winning streak of Akita Happinets. It was a key game for the top position in the league. 27 personal fouls committed by Akita Happinets helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) who scored 23 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Guard Daisuke Kobayashi (188-87) chipped in 22 points. Four Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. Bahamas power forward Kadeem Coleby (206-89, college: Wichita St.) produced 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and point guard Takuya Nakayama (182-94) added 7 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Fukuoka Rizing maintains first position with 39-10 record which they share with defeated Akita Happinets. Akita Happinets at the other side still keep top place with five games lost. Fukuoka Rizing are looking forward to face league's second-placed Gunma on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Akita Happinets will play against Bambitious Nara and are hoping to win this game.
