The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tel-Aviv: Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#5) and Maccabi T-A (#2). Hapoel Tel-Aviv (11-11) won against visiting Maccabi T-A (16-6) 85-80. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-14. But Maccabi T-A won second period 25-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Tel-Aviv looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. International Tomer Ginat (202-94, agency: Avi Zilberman) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Matt Howard (203-89, college: Butler) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American-Tunisian Michael Roll (198-87, college: UCLA) responded with 15 points and 9 assists and American DeShaun Thomas (201-91, college: Ohio St.) scored 17 points. Maccabi T-A's coach Neven Spahija rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hapoel Tel-Aviv maintains fifth position with 11-11 record, which they share with Hapoel Eilat. Maccabi T-A at the other side keeps the second place with six games lost.
