Regular Season Round 25: Orvieto - Savonese 77-46

Date: April 4, 2018
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Orvieto and 9th ranked Savonese had identical 9-13 record. This time Orvieto used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Savonese 77-46 on Wednesday night. Orvieto dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Savonese's 24. They outrebounded Savonese 39-19 including a 27-9 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Orvieto especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Savonese's players. It was a very good performance for Slovenian guard Eva Rupnik (176-92, agency: ProDep Management) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Anna Bambini (177-99) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Guard Lucrezia Zanetti (175-97) answered with 10 points and Irene Tosi (185-97) added 11 points in the effort for Savonese. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Orvieto (10-13) moved-up to ninth place in A2. Newly promoted Savonese dropped to the tenth position with 14 games lost. Orvieto will face Roma SRB (#12) on the road in the next round. Savonese will play against Alghero and hope to win that game.
