Regular Season Round 32: Chiba Jets - SeaHorses 96-77

There was a small surprise when first ranked Chiba Jets (38-13) rolled over at home top-ranked Aishin Sea Horses (42-9) 96-77 on Saturday. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 8 assists. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) contributed with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American center Courtney Sims (211-83, college: Michigan) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: Appalachian St.) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Aishin Sea Horses. Five Chiba Jets and four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chiba Jets have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 38-13 record which they share with defeated Aishin Sea Horses. Loser Aishin Sea Horses still keep top place with nine games lost. Chiba Jets will face Nishinomiya S. (#5) in Hyogo in the next round. Aishin Sea Horses will play at home against Shimane Magic (#6) and hope to win that game.
