Thirteenth-ranked UCC Piacenza (11-17) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Alma Trieste (21-7) in Casalpusterlengo. The visitors from Trieste managed to secure only three-point victory 69-66. However their fans expected much easier game. Alma Trieste made 18-of-20 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Alma Trieste's coach Eugenio Dalmasson allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side American guard Carlton Guyton (193-90, college: Kent St., agency: HMS) responded with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and his fellow American import forward Jonathan Arledge (206-91, college: ODU, agency: Two Points) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Four UCC Piacenza players scored in double figures. Alma Trieste maintains first position in A2 with 21-7 record. UCC Piacenza at the other side keeps the thirteenth place with 17 games lost. Alma Trieste will play against GSA Udine (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. UCC Piacenza will play against the league's second-placed F.Kontatto BO (#2) in Bologna and hopes to get back on the winning track.
