An interesting game for Gorizont (24-12) which hosted in Minsk second-ranked Olimpia (28-8). Third ranked Gorizont managed to get a 7-point victory 87-80. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-80. Gorizont made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Gorizont outrebounded Olimpia 40-26 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Gorizont made 9 blocks. The winners were led by Russian center Anna Nuzhnaya (194-92) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international Maryia Filonchyk (189-92) supported her with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Even 21 points by international swingman Arina Masko (175-99) did not help to save the game for Olimpia. Forward Nadzeya Nadzezhka (180-87) added 12 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Five Gorizont and four Olimpia players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gorizont maintains third position with 24-12 record having seven points less than leader COR Victoria. Loser Olimpia keeps the second place with eight games lost.
