Twelfth-ranked Blusens Monbus (11-16) made lots of trouble for seventh ranked Unicaja Malaga (16-11) in Santiago de Comp on Thursday. The visitors from Malaga managed to secure only six-point victory 97-91. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 34-24 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 6-point victory in overtime. Unicaja Malaga made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for Serbian point guard Nemanja Nedovic (191-91, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 6 assists. Polish Adam Waczynski (199-89) helped adding 17 points. The best for the losing side was Ukrainian center Artem Pustovyi (218-92, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) with 16 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Albert Sabat (181-85) scored 10 points and 7 assists. Four Blusens Monbus players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Unicaja Malaga moved-up to fifth place. Blusens Monbus lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Gipuzkoa GBC. Unicaja Malaga will meet at home higher ranked FC Barcelona (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Blusens Monbus will play against Gipuzkoa (#12) in San Sebastian and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
