Minas rallied past Vitoria to secure the quarterfinal stage berth. Minas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Universo/Vitoria helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Evan Roquemore (190-92, college: Santa Clara) orchestrated the victory by scoring 32 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Wesley Ferreira (201-95) contributed with 24 points for the winners. American point guard Nick Okorie (185-88, college: Texas Tech) answered with 29 points and 5 assists and the other American import point guard Kenny Dawkins (175-87, college: Lamar) added 21 points and 5 assists in the effort for Universo/Vitoria. Five Minas and four Universo/Vitoria players scored in double figures. Universo/Vitoria's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
