Regular Season Round 24: Bnei Hertzeliya - Maccabi Ashdod 72-74

Ninth-ranked Bnei Hasharon (9-15) used its home court advantage to challenge third ranked Maccabi Ashdod (15-9) in Hod Hasharon. The visitors from Ashdod managed to secure only two-point victory 74-72. However their fans expected much easier game. It looked good early as Bnei Hasharon took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Maccabi Ashdod had a 15-11 second period charge getting the lead and Bnei Hasharon was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-74. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Nimrod Levi (208-95) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 9 rebounds and American-Jamaican guard Sek Henry (193-87, college: Nebraska) who added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Jeff Adrien (201-86, college: Connecticut) with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward Dominique Archie (201-87, college: S.Carolina) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Bnei Hasharon's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Maccabi Ashdod have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 15-9 record having just one point less than leader Hapoel Holon. Bnei Hasharon at the other side dropped to the tenth place with 15 games lost. Maccabi Ashdod will play against bottom-ranked Maccabi Haifa (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bnei Hasharon will play against Hapoel Tel-Aviv and hopes to get back on the winning track.
