Second Stage Round 8: Prinemanye - Brest 78-92

There was a minor upset in Grodno where 7th ranked Prinemanye (12-32) was defeated by ninth ranked Brest (10-33) 92-78 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Brest. Prinemanye managed to win third quarter 27-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Brest had a 36-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Anton Shchurko (188-97) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Kirill Vinokurov chipped in a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds. Four Brest players scored in double figures. Ukrainian guard Anatoli Konev (196-92) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and point guard Vladislav Svakel (178-0) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Brest maintains ninth position with 10-33 record. Prinemanye lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 32 games lost. Brest will meet bottom-ranked RCOP Tsmoki (#10) in the next round. Prinemanye will have a break next round.
