Regular Season Round 30: Alcobendas - Gran Canaria II 77-73

Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Alcobendas (15-12) defeated at home bottom-ranked Gran Canaria II (11-18) 77-73 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-14. But Gran Canaria II won second period 22-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for power forward Daniel Trachsel (202-94) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Miguel Young (200-90) contributed with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Center Pamor Diene (208-98) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 18 rebounds and Polish center Aleksander Balcerowski (216-0, agency: Octagon Europe) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Gran Canaria II. Gran Canaria II's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Alcobendas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position in Group B with 15-12 record. Loser Gran Canaria II stay at the bottom place with 18 games lost. Alcobendas will face Lanzarote (#14) in Arrecife in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gran Canaria II will play at home against Estudiantes B (#7) and hope to win that game.
