Regular Season Round 30: Novaschool - Utrera 103-98

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Novaschool (14-11) defeated 3rd ranked Utrera (11-14) in Malaga 103-98 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 32-23 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Novaschool looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Utrera was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward Alex Jackson (200-84, college: Mo.-St.Louis) who led his team to a victory with 34 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Jose Berdugo contributed with 22 points and 8 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. Worth to mention Jackson played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Forward Andres Tejada (195-98) replied with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Montenegrin power forward Zoran Vilotijevic (206-90) added 22 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Utrera. Five Novaschool and four Utrera players scored in double figures. Novaschool have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group D-Permam with 14-11 record. Loser Utrera keeps the third place with 14 games lost. Novaschool will face bottom-ranked Sevilla 2 (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Utrera will play against Multiopticas Baza (#8) and hope to win that game.
