Very important is a home loss of third ranked Garra Canera de Navolato (3-2) against tenth ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (1-5) on Saturday night. Host Garra Canera de Navolato was defeated by Halcones de Ciudad Obregon in a tough game in Navolato 77-83. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Garra Canera de Navolato. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Garra Canera de Navolato's 38. American players dominated the game. Forward Nick Harney (203-92, college: Fairmont St.) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Michael Glover (203-87, college: Iona) chipped in 22 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Brandon Swannegan (206-93, college: Tulsa) with 18 points and 8 rebounds and guard Hameed Ali (188-93, college: Texas A&M-CC) scored 16 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Garra Canera de Navolato's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Defending champion left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with Mazatlan. Garra Canera de Navolato at the other side dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with Culiacan. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon will play against higher ranked Aguilas Doradas de Durango (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Garra Canera de Navolato will play against Ostioneros de Guaymas and hopes to get back on the winning track.
