There was no surprise when 13th ranked Kastela (3-18) was crushed on the road by ninth ranked KK Vrijednosnice Osijek (7-14) 87-67 on Saturday. The game without a history. KK Vrijednosnice Osijek led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was American guard Nick Tomsick (185-91, college: Fort Lewis) who scored 17 points and 4 assists. Finnish Carl Lindbom (206-91) chipped in 9 points and 9 rebounds. KK Vrijednosnice Osijek's coach Vladimir Krstic used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Center Ante Djugum (211-88, agency: Court Side) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds and guard Nikola Dosen (190-91, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. KK Vrijednosnice Osijek moved-up to eighth place. Kastela lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. KK Vrijednosnice Osijek will face league's second-placed KK Zadar on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kastela will play against Jazine (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
