Regular Season Round 30: Estudiantes B - Liceo Frances 82-70

There was no surprise when 15th ranked Liceo Frances (7-20) lost to eighth ranked Estudiantes B (14-13) in Madrid 70-82 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-70. Estudiantes B forced 25 Liceo Frances turnovers. It was a good game for Chilean guard Ignacio Arroyo (185-0) who led his team to a victory with 24 points. Swingman Diego Alderete (192-0) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Jorge Garzon replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds and Alejandro Ortiz added 15 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Liceo Frances. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Estudiantes B have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place in Group B, which they share with Tenerife Naut. Liceo Frances lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifteenth position with 20 games lost. Estudiantes B will face bottom-ranked Gran Canaria II (#10) in Las Palmas in the next round. Liceo Frances' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Madrid Real Madrid II.
