There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Palermo GB (8-21) won against at home higher ranked Forli Tigers (16-13) 69-64 on Sunday. Palermo GB dominated down low during the game scoring 38 of its points in the paint compared to Forli Tigers' 18 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Power forward Alessandro Cecchetti (200-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Michele Venturelli (190-82) contributed with 18 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners. Point guard Matteo Battisti (182-93, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 13 points and 7 rebounds and guard Antonio De-Fabritiis (188-90, agency: Players Group) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Forli Tigers. Four Forli Tigers players scored in double figures. Forli Tigers' coach Giampaolo Di Lorenzo tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Palermo GB maintains fifteenth place in B with 8-21 record. Forli Tigers lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 13 games lost. Palermo GB will face higher ranked Vicenza (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
