Regular Season Round 29: Lietuvos rytas - Siauliai 87-75

Second ranked Lietuvos rytas (26-6) beat at home 5th ranked Siauliai (13-19) by 12 points 87-75, which is the biggest margin this round on Wednesday night. Siauliai was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 24-11 charge of Lietuvos rytas, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was international Rokas Giedraitis (200-92) who scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Chris Kramer (191-88, college: Purdue) chipped in 15 points, 9 assists and 4 steals. Five Lietuvos rytas players scored in double figures. Forward Donatas Sabeckis (197-92) produced 9 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists and American swingman Akeem Wright (200-84, college: Kansas St., agency: Octagon Europe) added 18 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lietuvos rytas maintains second place with 26-6 record behind leader Zalgiris. Loser Siauliai dropped to the sixth position with 19 games lost. Lietuvos rytas will meet Neptunas (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Siauliai will play against Dzukija in Alytus and hope to secure a win.
