Regular Season Round 34: Nagoya DD - Toyama Grouses 76-74

Fifth-ranked Toyama Grouses (22-33) made lots of trouble for second ranked Diamond Dolphins (28-27) in Nagoya. Diamond Dolphins managed to secure only two-point victory 76-74. However their fans expected easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St.) contributed with 6 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. International forward Naoki Uto (188-91) replied with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) added 15 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Toyama Grouses. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Diamond Dolphins maintains second position with 28-27 record having seventeen points less than leader Ryukyu GK. Toyama Grouses lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the third place with 33 games lost. They share the position with Osaka Evessa. Diamond Dolphins will play against Yokohama BC (#6) on the road in the next round. Toyama Grouses will play against the league's leader Aishin Sea Horses and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
