Regular Season Round 28: Iraklis - Marousi 79-64

Very predictable result when third ranked Iraklis (21-7) won against 13th ranked Marousi (10-18) in Thessaloniki 79-64 on Saturday. They outrebounded Marousi 45-34 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for guard Yannis Gagaloudis (192-78) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 5 assists. The former international power forward Dimitris Haritopoulos (205-83) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Ioannis Michaloutsos (204-97, agency: Octagon Europe) replied with 12 points and guard Christos Dakoulias (186-87) added 10 points in the effort for Marousi. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Iraklis maintains third position with 21-7 record having six points less than leader Peristeri GS. Newly promoted Marousi keeps the thirteenth place with 18 games lost. Iraklis will face bottom-ranked AE Larissas (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Marousi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena Peristeri GS.
