Regular Season Round 27: Hapoel J-M - Galil Gilboa 86-90
Date: April 28, 2018
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th placed Hapoel Jerusalem (17-10) lost at home to fifth ranked Galil Gilboa (15-12) 90-86 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 29-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Galil Gilboa made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American DAngelo Harrison (193-93, college: St.John's, agency: 3Eye) who led his team to a victory with 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import Zach LeDay (201-94, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) contributed with 28 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Bar Timor (190-92, agency: Avi Zilberman) answered with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American swingman Tarence Kinsey (200-84, college: S.Carolina) added 16 points and 4 assists in the effort for Hapoel Jerusalem. Five Hapoel Jerusalem players scored in double figures. Hapoel Jerusalem's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Galil Gilboa. They maintain fifth place with 15-12 record, which they share with Hapoel T-A. Defending champion Hapoel Jerusalem dropped to the third position with ten games lost. Galil Gilboa will face Ironi Nes-Ziona (#8) in Nes Ziyona in the next round. Hapoel Jerusalem will play at home against the league's second-placed Maccabi Ashdod (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
